FRA conducts Sustainable Web Design review for Futurum Nobis Foundation
FRA has partnered with Futurum Nobis Foundation to carry out a Sustainable Web Design review of the foundation’s website.
Foundations and social organisations exist to serve people and address societal needs. However, the environmental and social impact of their digital activities is often overlooked.
For example, websites consume energy through hosting, data transfer, and user devices, meaning design choices can directly affect their footprint. Read more on digital emissions here.
To address this, FRA is assessing Futurum Nobis Foundation’s website against sustainable web design principles, looking at aspects such as privacy, diversity, accessibility, and environmental impact. The goal is to identify practical improvements that lower environmental impact while keeping the site accessible and effective for its audiences.
“We believe social organisations should lead by example, and online presence is not an exception,” said Natalia Terenteva, the Founder and the Board member of Futurum Nobis Foundation. “By opening up our own website for review, we want to better understand how sustainability and digital communication can go hand in hand in the reality of a social organisation.”
“I am delighted to support Futurum Nobis Foundation in aligning their digital presence with their mission”, added Francesca Leronni, the founder of FRA | Forward-thinking Responsible Advertising. “With so much communication happening online, organisations need to back their values with their digital choices. Embracing sustainable web design is a meaningful step in that direction. My hope is that this project will inspire others in the sector to follow.”
